Name: Agent York | Garrett York (Tramitem AU name)
Canon: Red vs. Blue
Age: 35
Appearance: York is a white male, with brown hair and blue eyes. He's physically imposing because of the constant workouts needed for his job. He is usually seen wearing Project Freelancer's golden-hued mechanical body armor. He has suffered an eye injury, leading to the appearance of several prominent scratches that cut across his eyelids, and a white cataract that covers his iris. York seems somewhat vain about his hair, always wearing it gelled even when he has recently been seen wearing his helmet.
Canon Point: As he is about to enter the portal he opened for Tex during the miniseries Out of Mind
Background: Wiki article
CRAU: York comes from the game Tramitem, the premise of which is that characters are living a modern life in New York City when they begin to regain canon memories. Whether they have been reincarnated or transported into 2020s America was up for their speculation and debate, but the canon memories were undeniable. This was especially true when things took place such as the transformation of York’s scar from a battery acid injury into a grenade injury. Characters also had items from their canon lives arrive in their apartments—this is how York got a hold of his armor.
Game events:
York is a loyal friend. This extends even to members of the team he has just met, such as when he tried to warn Texas in their initial sparring match about the other Freelancers bringing live ammo onto the training floor. He sees the AIs as an extension of that team as well, and went out of his way to help North’s shy AI Theta to feel more welcome by requesting Delta speak to him and put him at ease, despite the fact that this broke the rules. This also appears to lead to loyalty to the Project itself, even as he starts to question the Director's methods. It's notable that after the disastrous training match that ended in his eye injury, he was punished by being knocked 4 places down the leaderboard, while those who broke the rules and brought live ammo in were rewarded by being moved up the leaderboard. He later questions why they ended up on the opposing side to police and military during the Sarcophagus mission, but nevertheless remains loyal to the Project.
York has a strong sense of moral duty, though his definitions of what is right or wrong may differ from others. When he finally learned about the torture of the Alpha AI, he joined Tex in attempting to rescue it. When their failure to carry out this objective leads to a life on the run, he puts his own welfare first, and isn’t above using his lock-picking skills to lift a few needed items from a local shop. He has no qualms with seeking revenge, either, and when he learns that he can help Tex kill Omega in retribution for his losing his eye, he's quick to join her mission. This, despite the fact that Maine was the one who threw the grenade, not Tex, Omega's partner.
York’s downfall is his pride. In the aftermath of his injury and AI implantation, he refuses to admit that carrying out his usual duties in his specialty of infiltration has now become difficult for him. His inability to cop to his temporary weakness ends up putting teammates and mission objectives in jeopardy. Years later, when he has learned to compensate for the problem, he brags about his “kick-ass” skills, as cocky as ever. Tender and contemplative moments are rare from him except in private, when he believes it is unlikely that they will be observed.
York's relationship—or lack thereof—with Carolina is a major part of his character development at his canon point. Although it's kept vague exactly how close they were, it's known that they met sometime before Project Freelancer was founded. It's clear they became fast friends, and the metal cigarette lighter she stole from him later becomes a token that symbolizes this relationship. York has an unfortunate tendency to assume he knows what Carolina is thinking and feeling and acts on these assumptions despite possible evidence that contradicts his opinion. His belief that she only cares about winning and being the best colors his views of why she trains so hard, even after they lose Agent Connecticut in a disastrous failed mission. As the Project fails and he and Carolina find themselves on opposing sides of the breakdown, he makes the unfortunate assumption that she will understand that he knows best for her, and will abandon her association with the Project based only on his word on what she should do. His unwillingness to explain to her what's going on leads to their estrangement, ending with Carolina throwing the lighter at him and leaving. By his canon point (years later), however, he has recorded a journal entry in which he has come to the conclusion that he now understands her motivations, and that he should let go of his obsessive desire to find her and rekindle their associations.

Game events:
- York met various members of the Different, becoming friends with many and enjoying a beach party with them.
- He lost his job after taking a trip home to Texas and became a bouncer at the Lotus nightclub.
- York found his armor in his apartment and later realizes he had received it just in time for an invasion of Star Wars droids. He spent most of the week fighting them off.
- Eventually, York decided to move home to Texas, leaving his armor in storage in New York.

Weaknesses/Temptations:
- Vanity: York is vain about his appearance and doesn’t like it when he’s seen without immaculately coiffed hair or looking like he’s out of shape. His eye injury was a blow to this tendency of his, but he’s learned to wear it as a badge of his bravery (even though the injury was not obtained during battle). He also likes it when his lockpicking or other soldiering skills are acknowledged as being superior to those around him.
- Sentimentality: York has a problem with seeing his own emotions as being more important than the facts of a situation. This is why he tried to switch sides to help Tex during the training room battle, and why he continues to pursue Carolina and her memory even when he’s unsure whether she’s even alive.
- Showing off: York checks himself out of the hospital AMA so that he can join in the mission that is being briefed, basically just so he can show that he’s in good enough condition to resume his duties. This proves to be false when he trips the alarm while picking the lock he’s been sent to handle. He then takes on the duty of driving the jeep down the highway despite still not being used to his lack of depth perception.
- Pride: York never knows when to admit that he can’t handle something, especially if it’s an aspect of his job. Losing his stereo vision meant he had become unable to pick holographic locks, yet he continues to try (and fail) to do so while in the field.
- Revenge: York intends, at his canon point, to get revenge on Omeg and Wyoming for injuring his eye back during the Project. As he explains to Delta, “I’m not doing it to fix my eye, D. I’m doing it because my eye is broken.”
- Murder: York knows now that the people he helped kill in the name of the Project were actually working for the UNSC and not the Insurrection. For this reason he feels those deaths were indeed murders.
Items:
- Armor: Although this would qualify as ‘the clothes on his back’ I wanted to make special note of it. York’s armor is the Freelancer variant of Halo-canon MJOLNIR armor. It is resistant to bullets, water, and fire, and can be used as a space suit.
- Healing unit: York’s armor had a special enhancement included that would administer medication in the field if its occupant had been injured.
- Blaster: During the Star Wars event in Tramitem, York had taken one of the droids’ blasters.
